There will not be a return to the final at the U.S. Open for Amanda Anisimova.

The 25-year-old American, seeded 10th, won’t even come close to the quarterfinals as she was upset by Austria’s No. 24 seed Anastasia Potapova, 6-2, 7-5 in the third round Saturday afternoon.

Potapova, who reached her first U.S. Open round of 16, converted six break points and connected on four aces to score the stunning win.

Anisimova made a surprise run to the finals last year before getting handled by Aryna Sabalenka, who is seeking her third straight championship at the event.
