Former “American Idol” star Caleb Flynn’s ex-mistress sobbed in court Wednesday as she read a text message she sent saying she wanted to kill his wife, according to footage.

“I just wish I didn’t say this,” Alleigha Botner, 24, wailed between tears, according to Court TV footage.

“It says, ‘I want to kill her, Caleb,’” Botner said when asked by prosecutors to read the text she’d sent.

“I said, “It’s so bad.”

“He said, ‘That makes two of us,” Botner added.

Flynn, 40, has been accused of fatally shooting his wife, Ashley Flynn, in her Ohio home in February then staging the crime scene.

Prosecutors have cited his affair with Botner, who he met at the church where he worked as a music pastor and she was a 21-year-old intern, as a motive for the killing.

Botner said Wednesday in court that she now hates Flynn because she believes he killed his wife.
