Bears coach Ben Johnson knows the “direction” his team will go at quarterback when they host the Jets this weekend.

But if you were hoping he’d say what that meant, you’ll be disappointed.

“The direction’s already been made, so we’ll be in good shape for Sunday,” Johnson told reporters on Wednesday, according to ESPN, without saying who would be under center.

“It’s not hard for me at all,” he said about picking a starting QB. “I feel really good about all three quarterbacks in that room. And I know all three of them can win ball games for us.”

The Bears have been getting by with Caleb Williams dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him off the field in Week 3’s win over the Eagles on “Monday Night Football.”

Johnson has said that Williams has been “getting better every single day,” but he wasn’t part of the Bears’ walkthrough on Wednesday.

The Bears head coach will likely be deciding between Case Keenum, who had an impressive performance on national television against Philadelphia, and Tyson Bagent.

If Bagent got the nod on Sunday against the Jets, it would be his first in nearly three years, since he last started for the Panthers on Nov. 9, 2023.

Keenum threw for 247 yards and had three total touchdowns in a surprisingly dominant win over the Eagles.

It was the first time in 1,009 days that Keenum had started an NFL game.
