Disturbing video footage published by Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces on Monday shows armored vehicles running over Houthi fighters during a deadly offensive to recapture territory around the vital Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The footage, captured during the closing stages of a fierce battle for the coastal area, shows both armed and unarmed individuals being driven over on the sandy shore. While the Houthis have condemned the footage as evidence of war crimes, government and coalition officials have not yet responded, though a key military faction subsequently issued directives urging troops to properly treat prisoners.
