During the eighth inning of Game 3 of the NLDS on Tuesday, Dodgers middle infielder Miguel Rojas exited the game.

Rojas was seen in visible discomfort after fouling off a fastball from Braves reliever Brent Suter.

Rojas started limping back toward the batter’s box and was immediately evaluated by a member of the Dodgers’ training staff and manager Dave Roberts.

Shortly after the injury, the Dodgers announced that Rojas was removed from the game due to lower back pain.

Tommy Edman replaced Rojas at second base.

Rojas went 0-for-3 before departing Tuesday. He has one hit in the series — a double in Saturday’s 5-3 victory.

Rojas is expected to retire after the season is over.

Rojas was a World Series hero last year after hitting a game-tying home run in Game 7 against the Blue Jays, sending the game to extra innings.

The Dodgers went on to win the game in the 11th when Will Smith hit a go-ahead home run.

In Tuesday’s game, the Dodgers’ offense popped off in the fourth inning, when Kiké Hernández and Freddie Freeman homered to give LA a 3-0 lead.

The Braves scored in the fifth when Drake Baldwin grounded out to first after Dodgers starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto loaded the bases.

Yamamoto finished with a career-high 10 strikeouts. He tossed 98 pitches in seven innings, giving up four hits, one run and one walk.
