It’s unclear if a loss to the previously winless Miami Dolphins was a rock bottom moment for the New York Jets, but it feels as close as a team can get.
Miami won the game 28-25 and outgained New York 377-360. The Jets put pressure on the Dolphins in the fourth quarter, outscoring them 11-7, but a crucial three-and-out led to a Dolphins touchdown on the team’s next drive, which only took just over a minute.

ESPN’s Mike Greenberg, a noted Jets superfan, took issue with Jets head coach Aaron Glenn’s explanation for not using his timeouts at the end of the first half. New York’s second quarter included an interception, a punt and one play to end the half. The Dolphins had two possessions – a punt and a 15-play, 91-yard touchdown drive.
"Maybe we should've called our timeouts to get it back, but at that point, we just felt like we were going to stop them and be able to get the ball back," Glenn told reporters.
But Greenberg wrote on X that Glenn’s answer about game management was "inexcusable."

"This answer is inexcusable," Greenberg wrote. "Game management is the most important part of this job and he is as bad at it as any coach I’ve ever seen.
"There may not be any point in making the change now, but it’s over, it’s just a matter of when."
New York is only 2-5 on the season. The Jets started with a win over the Tennessee Titans, nearly beat the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and then topped the AFC North-leading Cleveland Browns. Other losses were against the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots.
There have been highs but the lows have been almost too much to handle if you’re a Jets fan.

The Jets have not made the playoffs since 2010 and it looks like the unfortunate streak is going to continue this season unless something really changes.
