Have you ever tried to have food at a beach with seagulls around? If so, you can probably sympathize with the young woman who has left the internet in stitches after revealing what seagulls did to her when she tried to have lunch by the sea.

In a post shared on TikTok in February under the username lulusideras, the woman can be seen opening her salad container at the beach, when all of a sudden, before she could even take a bite, a colony of seagulls appeared out of nowhere and changed her lunch plans.

As the seagulls attack her, she throws her salad bowl on the side, trying to divert their attention and get them off.

The hilarious clip came with a caption that read: "POV: You're trying to eat a salad at the beach." Followed by: "I JUST WANTED TO TAKE A CUTE VID EATING MY SALAD AT THE BEACH."

Some species of seagulls are potentially dangerous. Not only they can and will snatch food from your hands, they may also try to strike, peck or bite when defending themselves or their chicks or nests.

They may also involuntarily hit people with their wide wings when trying to steal food from them, especially those who hold onto it.

"Such incidents are not uncommon and have even resulted in lacerations to the hand or face, injuries that, in rare cases, have required a short visit to the hospital," BBC Science Focus wrote.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 39.4 million views and 5.6 million likes on the platform.

One user, MG, commented: "Why am I thinking the seagulls are photoshopped." And Jas P said: "No because someone tell me what purpose do seagulls serve other than being greedy bullies?!"

Vicky wrote: "I remeber I went to a beach and they stole my tuna sandwich ever since then I hate seagulls." And Monrae said: "In this economy I would have been fighting bout that $12 salad." Ava added: "I cannot stand seagulls they make me so frustrated like give me space bro."

Newsweek reached out to lulusideras for comment via TikTok chat. We could not verify the details of the case.
