Amber Cox is out as the Fever general manager as the team overhauls its front office following a first-round playoff loss, according to The Athletic.

Cox was hired to replace Lin Dunn as the team’s COO and general manager following the 2024 season.

The news of Cox’s departure comes hours after team president Kelly Krauskopf resigned.

The Fever were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs after falling to the defending champion Aces 2-1.

The team went to the semifinals last year, also losing to the Aces — albeit in five games — despite an injury that sidelined star guard Caitlin Clark, who was limited to just 13 appearances in 2025 and didn’t play after July 15.

This past season, the Fever’s high-powered offense, led by Clark and fellow MVP contender Kelsey Mitchell, finished 28-16 and landed the sixth seed in the WNBA playoffs while leading the league in offense.

But the team’s defense, which ranked eighth in the 15-team league, was last among teams that qualified for the postseason.

The Fever also have free agency questions looming that will come into focus in the offseason following the WNBA Finals.

Mitchell, who averaged a team-high 24.7 points per game on 51 percent shooting — including a blistering 45 percent from 3 — is slated to be a high-profile free agent this offseason and spoke about the difficulties of playing for the Fever in recent years.

Mitchell, selected No. 2 overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft, has played for Indiana her entire career.

Tyasha Harris, Sophie Cunningham and Myisha Hines-Allen are among other Fever players slated to hit free agency.

Aces forward Brianna Turner, who played for the Fever in 2025 and has feuded with the front office multiple times, posted on X, “What’s done in the dark will always come to light,” following the report of Cox’s ousting.
