Cincinnati defensive lineman Josh Hough’s Saturday afternoon went from bad to worse.

Hough suffered an apparent left leg injury during the second quarter of the Bearcats’ 45-42 loss to West Virginia and needed help getting off the field.

But the 335-pound defensive tackle appeared to be in even more pain when a West Virginia staffer appeared to accidentally back the cart carrying him into a wall at Milan Puskar Stadium.

The bizarre incident, which was captured on the TNT broadcast, showed Hough sitting on the back of the cart with his injured leg extended as the driver attempted to drive from the sideline to the locker room

Instead, the driver backed up too far, and seemed to push Hough’s left foot against the wall.

The senior immediately reacted in visible pain before the cart finally pulled forward.

The blunder quickly made the rounds on social media, with viewers expressing disbelief over the unfortunate sequence.

Hough was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the game with a lower-body injury.

It was not immediately clear whether the collision caused any additional damage to his already injured leg.

Hough has been a key contributor to Cincinnati’s defense this season, entering Saturday’s contest with 15 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.
