Jay-Z is slated to perform at the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show, taking place on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
“From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” said Jay-Z in a statement. “Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true.”
The announcement comes on the heels of an anniversary victory lap this year under the banner “Jay-Z 30.” He kicked off the celebrations as a headliner at the Roots Picnic in late May, followed by three sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium in July to honor the 25th and 30th anniversaries of his albums “The Blueprint” and “Reasonable Doubt,” respectively. In addition to international shows in Paris and London, Jay sat down with Rick Rubin for the eight-part docuseries “Jay-Z in 8” where he broke down hits and deep cuts across his catalog. This past weekend, he brought his global string of tour dates to a close at SoFi Stadium with two nights featuring guest appearances from Scarface, DJ Khaled, John Legend, Blue Ivy Carter, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Too Short.
“For several years, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Jay-Z and Roc Nation, and I’ve seen the extraordinary impact he has had on the Super Bowl Halftime Show,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in a statement. “When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him. I couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity and cultural impact he will bring to the Super Bowl stage.”
“Jay-Z’s impact on global music culture is as profound as it is undeniable,” added Oliver Schusser, Apple’s Vice President of Music and International Content. “We’ve had the privilege of working closely with him these last few years to bring some of the world’s most exciting and prolific artists to the Super Bowl Halftime Show stage and we are so thrilled that he will be taking that stage himself this year. We know it’s going to be an incredible show.”
The Super Bowl Halftime Show will air on ESPN, ABC and Disney+, and on mobile devices with NFL+. ESPN’s Spanish-language telecast will also be available on ESPN Deportes and Disney+, with a separate Spanish-language presentation on Univision. Roc Nation will executive produce the show, while Hamish Hamilton will serve as director.
Earlier this year, Bad Bunny held court as the Super Bowl Halftime Show performer, celebrating his Puerto Rican heritage in the tradition of Latin America. The elaborate set included a mock sugar-cane field and a Puerto Rican vecindad with a barber shop, liquor store and a casita where Bad Bunny welcomed celebrity guests including Jessica Alba, Karol G, Cardi B, Young Miko and Pedro Pascal, among others. Bad Bunny also brought out surprise artists Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin for a salsa-inflected version of “Die With a Smile” and “lo que le pasó a Hawái,” respectively.
The Benito Bowl, as it was affectionately dubbed by his fans, reached an average of 128.2 million viewers, above the 124.9 million average viewers achieved by the Super Bowl overall but down from the 133.5 million viewers reached by Kendrick Lamar in 2025. Before Lamar, Usher held the record for most viewers with his 2024 performance.
Last month, Bad Bunny won his first Emmy for his Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in the outstanding special (live) category. The spectacle took home a total of seven wins, including musical direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design, technical direction/camerawork and directing.
Speaking about the performance, creative director Harriet Cuddeford previously told Variety, “The performance is celebrating normal people, and what it is to be human and love and have joy, and really appreciate one another. This was to show how much he values his community, to celebrate normal people on the world’s biggest stage, especially people who are of importance in Latino culture. He’s a very authentic person, Benito, and it’s about just being authentic and very real and very human.”
In addition to the aforementioned artists, recent performers at the Super Bowl Halftime Show have included Rihanna, the Weeknd and a collective performance from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Lamar, 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak.
