Is this the Most Exciting NFL Trade Deadline Ever? | Don't @ Me w/ Dan Dakich

"I think that move's pretty good. The Quenton Nelson move, I don't know. I mean, he's a guard. He's 30 years old. They gotta pay him. Josh Downs wants out; if Jonathan Taylor gets traded, you know now we're talking. But, I always think the trade deadline in the NFL is much ado about nothing. But this year I don't know."

This New York Jets star will reportedly not be taking off anytime soon.

The 2-5 Jets have gotten off to a slow start, prompting trade interest in wide receiver Garrett Wilson. However, there is "no way" the Jets will part with Wilson, according to ESPN.

Last year, the Jets rocked the trade deadline when they traded away star cornerback Sauce Gardner and stud defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, netting a haul of picks that included three first-rounders. In theory, if they were to trade Wilson, they could get a similar haul, but at some point, the Jets simply need to keep building blocks on the team instead of trading them for future assets if they hope to contend again.

Jets ownership also loves the 26-year-old receiver and would not want to trade him, according to the report. Wilson himself said he does not want to be traded out of New York.

"I want to be here, man," Wilson told reporters Wednesday. "I want to win games, and that's the one thing we've been missing on here. I love it here. Do I love it more than I love winning? Nah, to be completely honest, but I'm hopeful.

"I've never been the best optimistic guy, but I've found a way and dug deep, and I've been optimistic for three, four, five years now. And that's why these (losses) each weekend hurt a little more."

Further dampening the possibility of a potential trade, the Jets paid Wilson handsomely just 15 months ago. He signed a four-year, $130 million extension that runs through 2030.

Despite subpar quarterback play in his five seasons with the Jets since being selected with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Wilson has been productive. In seven games this season, Wilson has 37 catches for 444 yards and three touchdowns.

He will look to build on those totals — while remaining with the Jets — through the rest of the season and beyond.
