Seasoned Hollywood marketer Josh Goldstine will be tapped for a massive new role at Skydance — encompassing Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures and all subsequent film labels — sources told Variety.

Goldstine will oversee marketing and distribution across all theatrical film. One knowledgeable insider said Goldstine met today with WB marketing execs Dana Nussbaum and Christian Davin, and Jeff Goldstein, president of global theatrical distribution. All three will report to Goldstine in the new structure.

Reps for Warner Bros. Pictures and Paramount had no immediate comment on the matter.

Goldstine joined Paramount in October 2025 as president of worldwide marketing and distribution, reporting to Paramount Pictures co-chairs Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg, following David Ellison’s acquisition of the company that August. Goldstine previously served as president of worldwide marketing at Warner Bros., departing in January 2025.

The hiring is a remarkable comeback for Goldstine, who was abruptly dismissed in January 2025 by former WB motion picture chiefs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy after four years with the studio. His exit came at the end of a turbulent 2024, which saw WB release flops like “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” and “Joker: Folie à Deux,” while at the same time fielding blockbuster hits like “Dune: Part Two,” “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.”

Ellison officially closed the deal for Warner Bros. on Tuesday, and the day prior he spelled out his leadership team for his new Hollywood powerhouse. After unveiling Ynon Kreiz, for Mattel chief, as his co-CEO, Ellison confirmed George Cheeks as co-chair and chief content officer of Skydance TV, Casey Bloys as co-chair and chief content officer and JB Perrette (previously Warner Bros. Discovery’s CEO and president of global streaming and games) as co-chair and chief business officer of both Skydance TV and Skydance DTC. Greenstein and Goldberg were named co-chairs of Skydance Motion Picture Group, overseeing both Warner Bros. and Paramount, and James Gunn and Peter Safran remain on board as co-chairs of DC Studios.
