Kyrsten Sinema’s ex-boyfriend turned lover called on her to pay his jail bond – despite allegedly threatening to “take down” the former lawmaker, a month on from trashing her home where he caused more than $200,000 worth of damage.

US Army veteran Matthew Ammel’s request emerged in court documents filed Monday – a week on from his Phoenix arrest where investigators said he breached his no-contact order that’s currently in place, Arizona Republic reported.

Ammel, 39, is currently in a Buckeye jail on a $25,000 bond and he’s due to appear in court on Oct. 15 for allegedly trashing Sinema’s home in late August – and he attributed his rage to being “p—d” at the US political system.

But he allegedly flouted his no-contact order again by having a “bail bondsman call [Sinema] and ask that she post his bond,” Sinema’s lawyer, Colleen Clase, said in a court document filed Monday, which has been seen by the Arizona Republic.

“This is a form of indirect contact, constitutes witness harassment and intimidation, and causes substantial concern given the recent history of threats made against her life,” the lawyer said. It’s unclear when the call was made.

Prosecutors have lobbied a judge to increase the bond to a cash-only $100,000 sum in light of Ammel’s alleged threats.

Clase called for Ammel’s case to be made non-bondable or to make his bond “much larger” than the current $25,000 sum, citing his background.

“The nature and seriousness of the threats, [Ammel’s] criminal history, past evidence for [Sinema’s] conduct, and the need for appropriate conditions of release if he is not deemed non-bondable need to be sufficient to protect [Sinema] and the community,” she said.

He had dropped off a knife at a nearby gun store and was waiting for the blade to be engraved. It was a present for his nephew’s Marine Corps graduation.

But Ammel wasn’t allowed to be armed with the blade as part of his release conditions.

Investigators then learned he had allegedly tried to buy a gun, threatened to “take down” Sinema and threatened to kill a North Carolina judge.

Prosecutors also claimed Ammel “contacted military friends to build him a rifle, purchased tactical gear, and discussed funeral arrangements,” without revealing further details.

He also refused to go to court for his arraignment, which was supposed to take place last Thursday.

Ammel, who joined Sinema’s security team in 2022 and later struck up a relationship before her divorce had been finalized, allegedly caused more than $200,000 worth of damage to her home in late August while she was out of town.

Ammel said he trashed Sinema’s home after she refused to post a video of soldiers helping a wounded man in Iraq.

He wanted Sinema to use her Pentagon connections to look into why his unit didn’t receive the Presidential Unit Citation.

Ammel, who admitted he had been drinking, allegedly threatened to destroy a piece of her artwork every 10 minutes if she didn’t comply.

She refused, and he allegedly threw 22 paintings into her swimming pool, with the estimated damage coming to around $123,000.

Ammel also allegedly shattered several expensive alcohol bottles and destroyed one mirror, bringing damages to more than $200,000.

Sinema’s relationship with her former bodyguard became public after Ammel’s ex-wife of 14 years sued the former politician under North Carolina’s “homewrecker law.”

Heather Ammel accused Sinema of destroying her marriage with her ex-husband by sustaining an affair with him during their trips together around the world.

Sinema allegedly bought Ammel gifts and paid for him to receive psychedelic treatment during the home-wrecking relationship.

She invited him as a guest to a wedding and a Taylor Swift concert.

Sinema, the first openly bisexual person elected to Congress, admitted to having repeated sex with Ammel in cities across America beginning around Memorial Day 2024. Sinema didn’t seek election in 2024.
