LeBron James is dipping his toes in the prediction market business.

The NBA legend announced a Polymarket partnership with a 14-second clip on social media, as King James becomes the latest in a growing list of athletes to make deals with prediction markets.

The video shows James pressing the word “sports” in an elevator at Polymarket’s fictional headquarters, with other floors listed, like politics and crypto.

“Welcome to Polymarket HQ,” the caption read. “Coming soon. In partnership with @Polymarket.”

The company replied to the post on X, “thanks for swinging by our HQ,” with a goat emoji.

An anonymous source told CNBC that the partnership is centered around football.

The Athletic reported that Polymarket said there will be more to the partnership announced next week.

“With football season around the corner, we look forward to tapping into James’ love for the sport and exploring other ways to bring Polymarket to wider audiences,” a message to the outlet read.

James joins Giannis Antetokounmpo, who became a Kalshi shareholder in February, as the latest NBA star to delve into the prediction-market realm.

Other athletes, including Bryson DeChambeau, Kyle Kuzma and Breanna Stewart, have also gotten involved with Kalshi.

Sports leagues and teams have also increasingly embraced prediction markets.

The NHL signed multiyear deals with both Polymarket and Kalshi last October, naming them the league’s official prediction market partners, while several MLB teams have struck their own agreements with Kalshi.

The Red Sox, for example, announced a multiyear deal with Kalshi in August that includes signage at Fenway Park, digital activations and radio integrations. MLB, in the spring, announced Polymarket as the league’s “Official Prediction Market Exchange.”
