Matthew Perry’s life is laid bare in an upcoming documentary, “The One About Matthew Perry,” which explores his career and crippling addiction that ultimately took his life.

“I said, ‘God, you can do anything you want to me, just please make me famous,'” the late “Friends” star — who played Chandler Bing in the hit TV series — recalled in a voiceover, in a new trailer released via Netflix Tuesday.

“I got a phone call [for the role], and I instantly knew my whole life was gonna change. But God did not forget the other part.”

Perry explained in another clip that he was thrilled when he became famous, but quickly realized that it “doesn’t fix” what was “inside” of him.

“This doesn’t do what I thought it was going to do,” he admitted.

As Page Six previously reported, Perry died in 2023 at the age of 54.

According to the LA County Medical Examiner’s Office, the actor died from “acute effects of ketamine.”

The autopsy report also listed drowning, coronary artery disease and buprenorphine (an opioid medication) effects as other conditions that contributed to his death.

At the time of his death, Perry had been on ketamine infusion therapy. The actor’s former assistant, Kenneth “Kenny” Iwamasa, was sentenced to 41 months in prison for his role in the fatal overdose.

“All great stories have comedy and tragedy in them, and that was certainly Matthew’s story,” Perry’s sister, Mia Perry Bowick, said in another clip from the new trailer.

She noted that her sibling allegedly spent “$7 million” trying to get sober.

“That’s how seriously he took his disease,” she shared, adding that he would often talk “about that feeling of emptiness, of loneliness, that he couldn’t fight.”

Perry actually estimated that he spent more than that trying to get sober.

In a 2022 New York Times interview, the “Friends” alum confessed that he’d “probably spent $9 million or something trying to get sober.”

Perry detailed his addiction in his memoir, “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.”

He divulged that he nearly died at age 49 when his colon burst from opioid overuse, and he spent two weeks in a coma, five months in a hospital and had to use a colostomy bag for nine months.

“The doctors told my family that I had a two percent chance to live,” he confessed.

The three-part documentary, which hits Netflix on Oct. 27, includes interviews with friends, several former girlfriends and work colleagues.
