Jed York has one Hall of Famer on his side.

Michael Irvin believes York’s prostitution arrest was blown out of proportion and downplayed the severity of the crime.

“He got divorced 5-6 months ago so I’m like man, come on. Is that really a crime?” Irvin said on a recent Kick stream with social media personality N3on.

“Let that man go. Leave it alone… Everybody’s paying for it. You take her out to eat, you’re paying for it. Everybody’s paying for it. So what are we doing? Why we gotta embarrass this man for 140 dollars? People think you’re a billionaire, why didn’t you go to high end places?’ The high end places get you in trouble all the time,”

York responded to an ad on a known prostitution website, where he agreed to meet a woman at a trailer park in Columbiana County, Ohio. He allegedly paid $140 for sex.

The 49ers principal owner was stopped by police in a Yankees shirt and shorts, still wearing his wedding ring.

York filed for divorce from his wife, Danielle, earlier this year.

The 46-year-old cut a plea deal with prosecutors, pleading no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct as well as one count of possessing criminal tools.

The NFL released a statement saying the league would review the matter under the personal conduct policy, which is pertinent to all league personnel and not just players.

York faces a potential suspension and the 49ers have already begun to prepare for an extended absence.

Irvin himself has faced several legal issues and controversies throughout his career and retirement.

In 1996, police arrested Irvin in a Texas hotel room after finding cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was later indicted on felony drug chargers.

Irvin was also involved in a physical altercation with teammate Everett McIver in a barbershop. Irvin struck McIver with a pair of scissors on his neck.

The Cowboys legend was also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in 2005. He’s also been accused of sexual assault three separate times.
