Morgan Wallen may need to give his Tecovas a good shake.

The controversial country singer just announced his self-curated lineup for the second edition of his Sand In My Boots Music Festival.

From May 21-23, Wallen will host 32 (!) country icons, roots-y rockers, pop stars, Hip-Hop heroes and more at Gulf Shores, AL’s Gulf Shores Beach.

Just a few of the most notable of acts on the stacked bill include Millennial icons The Kings of Leon, “Choosin’ Texas” hitmaker Ella Langley, throwback ’90s group Third Eye Blind, chart-topping rapper Nelly and groovy new wave duo Empire of the Sun.

They’ll be joined by Kygo, Flo Rida, Gavin Adcock, Gucci Mane and Koe Wetzel.

Cole Swindell, Rick Ross, Ying Yang Twins, Kameron Marlowe and Hudon Westbrook round out the genre-hopping lineup.

Plus, crowd-pleasing mashup pioneer Girl Talk will be on hand, too.

And, if Sand In My Boots 2.0 is anything like the O.G. 2025 affair, Wallnuts are in for a guaranteed good time.

“If you’re looking for the perfect mix of music, sunshine, and southern charm, Gulf Shores, Alabama is one destination to keep on your radar,” blogger Taylor Onze wrote after attending the inaugural extravaganza.

“Picture soft white sand, warm Gulf waters, and a community built around summer vibes and Southern hospitality. It was the ideal backdrop for a country-meets-pop music festival. The weather was perfect, the vibes were perfect, I low-key felt like I was on an episode of BayWatch… if there were a music festival here everyday, I would highly consider moving for sure.”

Now that sounds worth getting some sand in your boots.

Tickets officially go on sale to the general public on Friday, Nov. 6 at 10 a.m. Central Time through Ticketmaster but are available now on trusted secondary market sites like Vivid Seats.

We only recommend sites with a 100% buyer guarantee, so you know your transaction is safe and your tickets will arrive on time.

Why is Morgan Wallen controversial?

Although Wallen is a bona fide star, his ascent to the top of the heap hasn’t come without a few hiccups.

In fact, his Wikipedia has a lengthy section labeled “Controversies.”

Just a few of the 32-year-old’s most notable scandals include an arrest for public intoxication and disorderly conduct (May 2020), partying maskless in a bar at the height of the pandemic (October 2020), and using racial slurs on camera (February 2021).

Following his racist incident, Wallen donated $300,000 to the Black Music Action Coalition. He was also banned from a number of award shows.

Most recently, Wallen “was charged with three felony counts by the Metro Nashville Police Department after a chair he allegedly threw off the roof of the six-story Chief’s bar landed on Broadway near two police officers,” according to The Post.

On a lesser note, he also walked off the set of “SNL” during the show’s goodnights in March 2025. “I was [just] ready to go home,” he said on the Sundae Conversation podcast. His now infamous post-episode Instagram Story read “Get me to God’s country.”

Morgan Wallen new music

In 2026, Wallen has released four singles.

Up first was the contemplative “McArthur,” which is an ode to the late evangelical pastor John McArthur and “what you’re gonna pass down” when you’re gone. All four vocalists — Wallen is joined by Eric Church, Tim McGraw and HARDY — eschew theatrics and deliver a unified, grounded sound that will surely lead to a tear or two being shed at live shows.

Soon after, Wallen teamed up with Ella Langley for the sultry breakup anthem “I Can’t Love You Anymore.” The two reminisce about their would-be romance through vivid images of smoldering cigarettes, kisses that left “a burn on [Langley’s] lips” and a lighter left behind on a nightstand. Expect to shed a tear and boogie to this one should the pair team up at Sand In My Boots.

Things mellow on Wallen’s solo effort “Been By Now.” Once again, he’s singing about a failed relationship — the chorus is “if it was meant to be, it would have been by now” after all — but he goes more contemplative and bluesy here than fiery. Perfect for a quiet night at the bar.

Finally, the 33-year-old contributed the single “Last Thing You Need” to the upcoming “Grand Theft Auto VI” soundtrack. It’s a twangy departure for the game and we can’t wait to see how it fits into the narrative.
