As the San Francisco 49ers are set to take on their bitter NFC West rival, the Los Angeles Rams, in a Week 1 showdown in Melbourne, Australia, San Francisco might have a home-field advantage after all.

Hours before the game officially kicks off at 10:35 a.m. (local time) and will broadcast at 5:35 p.m. PT, a large group of 49ers fans have been spotted lining up, waiting to get into the team bar.

The line to get inside the team bar wrapped all around Melbourne Cricket Stadium, and it featured a sea of red.

The 49ers ar deemed as the road team in the game, while the Rams are considered the home team.

Since it was first announced that the two teams would be opening the season in Australia, last February, it’s sparked a debate on whether the NFL did this as a way to prevent the 49ers from having another “home game.”

It’s no secret that when the 49ers and Rams get together in Los Angeles, 49ers fans swarm SoFi Stadium.

On Monday, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan admitted that he was still annoyed by the league’s decision to force the two teams to play in Australia, and said the Rams were “let off the hook.”

Shanahan added that after being in Australia for the past week, his worries about losing a crowd advantage have simmered down, as the team has had a warm reception.

The Rams and 49ers have had two vastly different approaches towards the game, as the 49ers have been in Melbourne for a week now, while the Rams arrived in the city on Thursday.

San Francisco has been embracing the city, as players have been out, trying new activities and embracing what the city has to offer.
