A 29-year-old registered sex offender was busted trying to enroll in high school as a homeless teenage girl — a year after he was sentenced to prison for attempting the same thing.

Makayla Craig allegedly claimed to be a 17-year-old girl named Molly from Oregon on his enrollment application for Maple Grove High School outside of Minneapolis, raising the suspicions of school staff who notified police, according to charging documents obtained by KARE.

The creep was picked up by cops on Thursday, and told them that he had never attended school before and wanted to “get the full experience,” according to police.

He also said he was worried that he’d be mistaken for “Makayla Craig” — a registered sex offender from Oregon, who he turned out to be.

Craig “never completed enrollment with Maple Grove Senior High School, and he was never present on campus as a student or in any online classes,” the Maple Grove Police Department said in a press release.

He was charged with multiple counts of felony forgery and is currently being held on a $50,000 bond with a court appearance scheduled for Friday, jail records show.

Craig was sentenced to 40 days in jail in April 2025 for posing as a 15-year-old homeless girl named Madison while attempting to register for high school in Albany, Oregon with fake documents, according to KGW, which referred to Craig by female pronouns in its reporting.

He was 27 at the time.

He became a registered sex offender after he was convicted of third-degree sexual abuse in May 2023 with a minor, and was sentenced to three years’ probation and was barred from contacting children during that time, the outlet reported.
