A shooting at a Nebraska high school on Wednesday left one injured, as cops scrambled to secure the building.

Police were called to reports of a shooting at Burke High School in Omaha at around 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time at the start of the school day, KETV reported.

The shooting took place on school grounds but not inside the school itself, Omaha Public Schools told the outlet.

Burke High was “secure” as of 9:15 a.m. Eastern Time, according to police.

“We believe this was an isolated incident between two people,” Omaha Police Department said.

“We believe the other involved party is detained at this time.”

Cops added that the victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury.

The district told KETV that a firearm was recovered.
