Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff led TV Land’s Younger for all seven seasons before its cancellation in 2021.
The comedy series, adapted from Pamela Redmond Satran’s novel of the same name, follows 40-year-old Liza (Foster) as she tries to re-enter the workforce after her divorce. In order to secure a job at publishing house Empirical, Liza pretends to be 26 all while fooling her bosses, coworkers and potential love interests.
“I really think all the characters of the show do get their happy ending,” creator Darren Star exclusively told Us Weekly in April 2021 of the series finale. “There’s sort of, like, twists and turns in the final episode, which is an hour-long episode, until the very last moment. The show doesn’t really, let’s say, stick the landing until that very last scene. It’s a fun season, and I hope it’s going to leave the audience happy and satisfied at the end.”

Before Foster led Younger, she was best known for her roles on Broadway and on Freeform’s short-lived Bunheads. Since Younger concluded, Foster has appeared on Into the Dark, A Million Little Things, Doc McStuffins, Ridley Jones, Solar Opposites and an episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Foster returned to Broadway in 2022’s The Music Man opposite Hugh Jackman and in 2024’s Once Upon a Mattress alongside former Younger guest stars Michael Urie and Ana Gasteyer.
The Tony winner published her Hooked memoir, inspired by her love of crafting, in October 2021.
She was married to Ted Griffin, with whom she shares daughter Emily, for nearly 10 years before filing for divorce in October 2024. Us exclusively confirmed one month later that Foster was dating Jackman after his own split from Deborra-lee Furness.
The former child star portrayed Kelsey Peters, a junior editor at Empirical who worked her way up to one-time publisher of the brand and founder of the Millennial imprint. Duff has gone on to star in The Haunting of Sharon Tate and Hulu’s two-season How I Met Your Father.
The Disney Channel alum is a mother of four, sharing son Luca with ex-husband Mike Comrie and three daughters (Banks, Mae and Townes) with husband Matthew Koma. Duff and Koma tied the knot in December 2019.
When Duff gave birth to Mae, Younger costar Molly Bernard served as the doula.
Mazar played Liza’s BFF and roommate, artist Maggie Amada. Her follow-up acting credits include A Christmas Number One, The Pentaverate, East New York, The Kill Room, Down the Rabbit Hole, Ladies in Black, Kaos and Miss Fallaci.
Mazar — also famous for her role in Entourage and many films, plus her close lifelong friendship with Madonna — shares daughters Evelina and Guilia with her husband, Gabriele Corcos.
Shor brought Diana Trout, Empirical’s head of marketing, to life on Younger. She later appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, And Just Like That, Maestro, American Fiction and Before.
Shor has been married to Justin Hagan since 2009 and they share daughters Ruby and Iris.
Tortorella starred as Josh, the 26-year-old tattoo artist with a romantic interest in Liza. He later appeared as Felix Carlucci on The Walking Dead: World Beyond from 2020 to 2021. He also scored acting roles in The Mattachine Family, City on Fire and Binged to Death. Tortorella has written three books: All of It Is You (2018), Space Between (2019) and Olivette Is You (2024). That same year, he launched his “Full of Shift” podcast.
Tortorella and spouse Bethany C. Meyers welcomed daughters Kilmer Dove and Pesce Pearl in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
Hermann’s Charles Brooks was another of Liza’s suitors, but he was also the publisher at Empirical. After the TV Land series ended, Hermann continued acting in the likes of 13: The Musical, Goodnight Mommy, And Just Like That, Blue Bloods and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Hermann is married to SVU star Mariska Hargitay and they share sons August and Andrew, as well as daughter Amaya.
Bernard appeared as the quirky Lauren Heller, a publicist in NYC who was friends with Kelsey and Liza. She has since acted in Hit Man, Best Man Dead Man and Dreams in Nightmares before making her Broadway debut in 2024’s Cult of Love. Duff attended the theatrical opening night with her son.
Bernard married Hannah Lieberman in 2021, welcoming their daughter two years later in January 2023.
Davis joined Younger late, recurring as rival editor Zane Anders. The Originals alum went on to act in NCIS: New Orleans, For the People and Motivated!. He also reprised his Originals role of Marcel Gerard for a 2022 episode of The CW’s Legacies.
A Broadway vet like Foster, Benanti was also a Younger latecomer in her role as business maven Quinn Tyler, who was initially one of Liza’s authors at Millennial Print before investing in the whole company. After Younger, she appeared in tick, tick… BOOM!, 2023’s Gossip Girl, No Hard Feelings, The Shade, The Gilded Age, Life & Beth, Goodrich and episodes of Elsbeth.
Benanti and her husband, Patrick Brown, welcomed daughter Ella in 2017 and daughter Louisa in 2022. (Louisa was born via surrogate after Benanti suffered multiple miscarriages.)
Years before Dynevor shot to mainstream stardom on Bridgerton, she recurred as Irish bartender Clare O’Brien on Younger. Clare was a love interest for Josh, and they ended up coparenting a daughter named Gemma by the series finale. After leaving Younger behind, Dynevor lead the first season of Bridgerton as Daphne. She left the Netflix hit after two seasons, going on to star in projects like Fair Play, The Colour Room, Ten Percent and Bank of Dave.
Dynevor briefly dated comedian Pete Davidson in 2021 before moving on with Cameron Fuller. She announced her engagement to Fuller in May 2024.
