Woman Parasailing Fearful of Sharks, Then Parachute Descends Into Sea Below

A woman who has a fear of sharks was nervous when she parasailed over the sea and her parachute edged closer to the water, where dolphins could be seen.

TikTok user Jules shared a video to her account @jules2raw of her and her partner during their thrilling parasailing experience, showing them flying high over the sea as the mammals swim below.

While it made for a scenic moment on camera, Jules had other things on her mind, writing in the text overlay of the video: "where there's dolphins there's sharks."

Newsweek reached out to @jules2raw via TikTok for comment. We cannot verify the details of the case.

In the clip, which has received 2.7 million views since it was shared on November 25, the couple is seen getting lower and closer to the water, where a huge number of dolphins are breaching the surface.

"We're going in. Oh my God," she can be heard saying. Jules can then be heard nervously laughing and screaming as they approach the water, eventually being pulled back up as dolphins swim behind them.

She wrote in the caption: "There was SO many of them too. 10/10 experience tho."

According to Live Science, dolphins and sharks are often seen swimming side by side. Each animal normally minds its own business when this happens, but dolphins can sometimes antagonize sharks when they feel threatened by them—with some even ramming into sharks with their long snouts.

Jules' video received hundreds of comments from other TikTok users who shared their thoughts and reactions to her experience.

"I went swimming with wild dolphins in Oaxaca and as I was in the water with them all around me I asked the captain, "I'm safe from sharks right because dolphins are here?" And he laughed and said NO," Poppetje wrote.

Meme commented: "No bcause what happens if a shark grabs your foot?"

"I saw three sharks when I went parasailing and was THRILLED," said @rmilder.

Jus shared: "This is a big NO for me. I'd have crashed out before even hitting the water and then they'd have to remove my body with my parachute."

When asked by one commenter if they were dunked in the water, Jules replied: "They barely dipped our feet in! I'm glad they didn't dunk us all the way in."
