A second young woman claims she was raped at a frat party near the University of Chicago, according to an explosive new lawsuit — over a week after the elite institution was first rocked by sexual assault allegations at another frat house.
The 19-year-old, identified only as Jane Doe, alleged she was raped during a party at the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity house on Feb. 7, NBC News reported, according to the lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court Thursday.
Doe, who is not a UChicago student, went to the party – after seeing it promoted on Instagram – with several friends and was dancing when a fraternity member offered her a shot, court papers said.
The frat bro then took her to a secluded bedroom on a different floor of the house where she told him she was feeling unsteady and lightheaded, which he ignored, according to the lawsuit.
The man began to make “unwanted and nonconsensual sexual advances” on Doe, who “lost all physical and verbal ability to refuse” his alleged sexual advances, court papers said.
“I remember backing onto the bed because I knew what was about to happen, but I just — I didn’t feel like I was strong enough to get out,” Doe told NBC News.
Although she claimed her ability to speak was impaired, Doe was able to plead with the frat bro to wear a condom, but he refused — and penetrated her “without her consent,” according to the lawsuit.
After the alleged rape, Doe was left alone and unconscious until one of her friends discovered her, court papers said.
The woman said she found bloodstains in her underwear the next morning and went to the hospital, where she reported the encounter to the Chicago Police Department, the publication reported.
The fraternity’s national chapter confirmed to NBC it was aware of the allegations and that it “suspended the member involved.”
UChicago, which does not recognize frats as official student organizations, called the allegations “very disturbing to the University community” and is “prepared to help the Chicago Police Department” in its investigation, university spokesperson Gerald McSwiggan said in a statement to the publication.
The disturbing lawsuit follows another woman allegedly being raped at a different frat house near UChicago during a party earlier this month – where a group of men allegedly cheered “when’s my turn” and “let me in,” from outside the bathroom door.
The University of Chicago and the Alpha Delta Phi national organization and Chicago chapter did not immediately reply to The Post’s requests for comment.
