The first sign Vanessa Trump was battling “very invasive” breast cancer was her “extreme fatigue,” the 48-year-old revealed in a new interview.
While sitting down with daughter Kai, 18, and Dr. Nicole Saphier for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Trump recalled feeling “extremely tired” — even doing something as simple as a Starbucks run — in the six months before her diagnosis.
Trump, who is now cancer-free after her MRI “results came back clear,” noted in Saturday’s video that fatigue is “hard to detect” in patients as that’s “a normal mom symptom.”
The survivor also gave rare insight into her treatment for invasive ductal carcinoma, specifying that she underwent a lumpectomy, which is defined by Mayo Clinic as surgery to remove a tumor and a small rim of healthy breast tissue.
She underwent a three-course treatment of radiation as well.
Trump, whose cancer was caused by environmental not genetic factors, noted that, in the future, she will have scans three to four times a year for the next five to 10 years.

She promoted the interview in an Instagram post Sunday reflecting on her “long and challenging” journey with the disease.
In the caption, Trump wrote how “incredibly grateful” she is for the “love and support” she received amid her health struggles.
“By sharing my story, I hope to encourage others to prioritize their health, schedule their screenings and understand the importance of early detection,” she told her followers.
“If sharing my experience encourages even one person to get checked, it’s worth it,” she continued.
Trump concluded the social media upload with information on donating to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
The carousel included two photos of Trump and Kai, the eldest of her five children with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr.
Additionally, she shared a smiling snap of herself, boyfriend Tiger Woods and Kai standing in front of a bell and a colorful “Congratulations” banner.
Vanessa went public with her cancer battle in May, revealing she had been diagnosed one month prior.
“While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.”
Vanessa noted she had undergone a recent “procedure.”
In June, she described spending “four weeks recovering from surgery” and said she was “healing and moving forward” with phase two of her treatment.
Kai told Page Six the following month that her mom was “doing good.”
