Dakota Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly turned to Taylor Swift to help with a little seclusion during their recent night out in New York City.

“Taylor has let friends use her NYC properties before, and Dakota and Colson wanted privacy, so they headed to her apartment,” a source exclusively told Page Six.

MGK — whose real name is Colson Baker — and Johnson, both 36, were spotted at Swift’s Tribeca apartment Friday night before heading to Estela for dinner.

While the “Love Story” pop superstar wasn’t home at the time according to TMZ, we’re told there was plenty of chemistry between her two pals.

“Colson had a really nice time with Dakota. He thinks she’s really cool and obviously he’s attracted to her,” the source said. “They hit it off and there was definitely chemistry.”

“It’s new and they’re just getting to know each other, but there was definitely something there, and he would like to see her again.”

The insider added that the rapper was “really into” the actress and the two “were comfortable together.”

“He likes that she’s funny and doesn’t take herself too seriously,” the source said. “It wasn’t awkward or forced. They were vibing and had fun.”

According to the insider, “It wasn’t some big planned-out romantic night, or anything like that.”

“They were hanging out, having dinner, talking and getting to know each other,” the source explained, adding that the “Bloody Valentine” singer “wasn’t trying to make a big thing out of it or have everyone know they were together.”

Although their romantic connection is new, the “Fifty Shades of Grey” star and MGK have previously run in the same celebrity circles.

Both attended the A-list affair Vogue World: Hollywood at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles in October 2025. 

The pair were also both guests at Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding in July, where they reportedly crossed paths.

The two have been snapped around NYC over the weekend, with Johnson attending the Kering Foundation Caring for Women Dinner on Thursday alongside Salma Hayek and Pamela Anderson.

Meanwhile, MGK was seen leaving the Greenwich Hotel on Friday morning and, on Saturday, he was photographed at the US Open.

However, “The Dirt” actor isn’t getting ahead of himself when it comes to his budding connection with Johnson.

“He’s not putting a label on anything or getting ahead of himself,” our source says. “He likes her, they had fun and he’d like to hang out with her again. That’s really where it is right now.”

Reps for Johnson, MGK and Swift did not return Page Six’s requests for comment.

DeuxMoi was first to report that Johnson and Kelly spent time at Swift’s Tribeca apartment, claiming Johnson arrived first and MGK followed about 30 minutes later. The outlet reported that the pair spent several hours inside before later heading to Johnson’s hotel.

TMZ subsequently published photos of the pair during their night out and reported that Swift was not at the apartment at the time.

The outing comes after Johnson’s split from singer Role Model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury.

News broke in August that the pair had called it quits “a while ago” after first sparking romance rumors in December 2025. Johnson and Pillsbury were last photographed together during a Los Angeles outing in April.

Prior to dating Pillsbury, the “Materialists” actress was in a nearly eight-year relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

Meanwhile, MGK famously had an on-and-off relationship with Megan Fox.

The former couple share daughter Saga, who was born in March 2025. Kelly is also dad to daughter Casie, whom he shares with ex Emma Cannon.
