The New York Jets had a 17–7 fourth-quarter lead against the Green Bay Packers and still walked away with a 20–17 overtime loss.

In this week’s After Further Review, Dexter Henry looks beyond the final score to examine why the Jets offense failed to finish the job. After controlling the game early, New York’s final three possessions ended with a punt, turnover on downs and another punt in overtime. Breece Hall and Braelon Allen struggled to generate anything on the ground, while Geno Smith took four sacks after not being sacked at all in Week 1.

Meanwhile, the Jets defense held Green Bay to 199 total yards and just 1-of-9 on third down. So while Aaron Glenn’s late-game decisions will get plenty of attention, was the bigger problem an offense that couldn’t close the door when it had multiple chances?
