Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce might not have entered training camp in the best shape of his life, but he's in good enough shape to keep the coaching staff satisfied.

“He came back in good shape,” Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said on Wednesday, as transcribed by Pro Football Talk. “I know everybody’s out there saying he’s got the dad body and all this stuff, but he looks the same to me that he’s always looked, and just playing like crazy. So he’s doing a nice job with everything. He’s focused in and ready to go, and I appreciate that, when you have somebody who’s been here 14 years and wants to be out there every snap... he’s going to play and play hard and be aggressive and not be stopped, and that’s contagious.”

Reid knows what it takes to maintain an athletic build, doesn't he?

Kelce, 37, has been on the receiving end of some cruel jokes about his physique since arriving to training camp on July 28, but what else would you expect after the offseason he had? It's hard to stay in shape when you're stressed about planning to marry an accountant at a bingo hall, let alone the world's biggest pop star at the world's most famous arena!

Kelce is certainly much closer to the end than the beginning, but there is still plenty of hope and belief that he can continue to be a contributor in Kansas City.
