The Kansas City Chiefs are loading up once again, this time with a player they are very familiar with.

According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Chiefs are signing free-agent defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah to a one-year deal. Ogbah won Super Bowl LIV with Kansas City in 2020.

Ogbah, 32, is coming off the worst season of his NFL career. In 2025, he recorded a career-low 0.5 sack to go along with just 15 tackles, one fumble recovery and one pass defensed.

However, he and the Chiefs seem to believe they could recreate the magic of their Super Bowl run together.

During that stretch, Ogbah racked up 32 tackles, 5.5 sacks, one forced fumble and three passes defensed.

Ogbah began his professional career as a second-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He spent three years in Cleveland before he was traded to the Chiefs ahead of the 2019 season.

Following Ogbah's stint in Kansas City, he signed a two-year, $15 million contract with the Miami Dolphins. After a pair of nine-sack seasons, he then signed a four-year, $65 million contract extension.

Unfortunately, Ogbah suffered a season-ending tricep injury in 2022 that required surgery. He was able to return the next season, but he was never the same player and the Dolphins released him.

A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Ogbah played college football at Oklahoma State, where he recorded 133 tackles, 28 sacks and two forced fumbles from 2013-15.
