The Charlotte Hornets ended an era earlier this offseason, sending LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a blockbuster trade.

Ball was one of two 20-point scorers for the Hornets last season, joining Brandon Miller.

During a recent appearance on "The Road Trippin' Show," Miller was asked for his reaction to the trade.

"It's tough going through the trade deadline, this time, seeing your brothers, Day 1s, gone. It hurts, but we all know the NBA game. I know he will be great in Minnesota and what they have going on there," Miller said.

"Of course, he still has a lot to learn. I feel like everybody that's that young has a lot to learn, so I'm excited to see his growth," Miller added. "That was the main thing I was excited for him about last year, just his leadership growth. I feel like the media kind of had him looking crazy a lot of times."

Miller averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game in his third NBA season with the Hornets. With Ball now in Minnesota, Miller will be asked to shoulder a heavier load in Charlotte this coming season.

Through his sixth season with the Hornets in 2025-26, Ball averaged 20.1 points, 7.1 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game. Now, he joins his fellow 2020 draft classmate Anthony Edwards to form one of the league's most electrifying backcourt duos in Minnesota.
