The New York Yankees are heading towards another (likely) postseason run and the team has tapped one of New York’s most famous faces (and voices) to help root them on.

Athleticwear brand Sportiqe has released a Billy Joel x New York Yankees collection, that pairs the brand’s T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies with Joel’s lyrics and the baseball team’s most famous motifs. A press release says the official collaboration “pairs the music of hometown legend Billy Joel with the energy, pride and unmistakable passion of New York fandom.”

The Billy Joel x Yankees collection reworks one of the singer’s most famous lyrics as a rallying cry for the MLB team, with “New York State of Mind” printed on T-shirts, crewneck sweatshirts and on the back of a unisex hoodie. The navy blue Yankees logo is also featured prominently on each piece.

Joel was born in the Bronx and the singer has had plenty of connections to the Yankees throughout his career, including a bestselling live album recorded during his two sold-out concerts at Yankee Stadium in 1990. That concert run is commemorated in a vintage-inspired T-shirt that is also part of the Sportiqe collection.

Pricing for the official collaboration ranges from $52 to $109 with women’s sizes running small to XL and sizing for the unisex pieces running from XS to 3XL. You can shop the full collection here and see some of our favorites below.

Depending on who you ask, Joel is generally considered more of a Mets fan. The singer’s 2008 Shea Stadium run was commemorated into a live album and DVD, titled “Live at Shea Stadium: The Concert.” The singer also famously played the final concert ever at Shea Stadium, a.k.a. “The Last Play at Shea.”

In addition to the Yankees collab, Sportiqe also has a Mets collection inspired by Joel, including a vintage-inspired T-shirt that commemorates Joel’s 2008 performance of “Piano Man.”

Joel has also performed the national anthem for Mets fans on a couple of occasions, including Game 3 of the 2015 World Series between the Mets and the Royals, and before Game 2 of the 1986 World Series between the Mets and Red Sox.

The Mets have been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs this season. The Yankees, meantime, hold the first wild-card spot in the American League.
