Stefon Diggs took the field for his first training camp practice with the Washington Commanders on Friday.

News of Diggs' signing with the Commanders broke on Wednesday, and was made official on Friday morning. The 32-year-old wide receiver now joins a Washington wide receiver room featuring veteran star Terry McLaurin and third-round rookie Antonio Williams.

Diggs spoke with reporters following his first day of practice.

“It’s good being around other players that can ball,” Diggs said, via ProFootballTalk. “It’s going to be hard to double somebody in this offense. You’ve got guys that can make plays and guys that can make plays out of the backfield. You’ve got a mobile quarterback. The biggest thing for me is just my commitment to the game. I play outside, I play inside, a little bit of the backfield if they let me.”

Diggs was specifically impressed by Williams, the Commanders' No. 71 overall pick in the draft.

"[No. 14] can hoop a little bit. Young guys don’t get a name in the beginning. You just call them by their number," Diggs joked.

Diggs reeled in 85 catches for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns in his 2025 season with the New England Patriots.

The Commanders will open up their 2026 regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 13.
