Vic Fangio is entering his third season as defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles.

In Fangio's first season as DC, the Eagles went on to notch a Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. That year, the Philadelphia defense served as an excellent compliment to the offensive unit that saw running back Saquon Barkley put up historic rushing numbers.

Last year however, the Eagles' offense experienced a drastic regression — ranking bottom half of the league in both total yards and points per game.

Fangio made an interesting statement regarding the Eagles' offense at training camp on Wednesday.

“We got the better of the offense yesterday — by a long shot," Fangio said, via team insider Jeff McLane. "But it’s been that way the last two years.”

The Eagles are entering the season with a new offensive coordinator for the fourth consecutive year. Philadelphia hired first-time OC Sean Mannion earlier this offseason, replacing now-former OC Kevin Patullo following his disappointing campaign in 2025.

The Eagles will kickoff their 2026 regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sept. 13.
