Legend Storer, a 20-year-old former college swimmer from Hawaii, has been charged in connection with the killing of a security guard who police say was attacked by a naked man at a West Maui condominium resort.
Maui police said officers found Michael Dyer, 63, unresponsive at the resort on Lower Honoapiʻilani Road shortly after 5:30 a.m. on August 5. Medical personnel pronounced Dyer dead at the scene.
Investigators said surveillance footage showed an unclothed man arriving at the property at about 1:45 a.m., approaching Dyer's office and assaulting him before fleeing on foot.
Roughly two hours later, officers responded to reports of a naked man in the nearby Kahana area. The man had sustained numerous abrasions and was taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center for evaluation.
Police later determined that the man found in Kahana was the same person seen in the resort's surveillance footage. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and first-degree burglary, while an indecent-exposure charge was referred to prosecutors. Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive.

This is a developing story. More to follow.
