Beloved LA newscaster Wendy Burch is firing back at a woman she claims spent eight years trying to extort her and destroy her reputation over an alleged $150,000 drug deal, according to an explosive new lawsuit.

Burch, a longtime fixture on KTLA’s morning news show, accuses Christine Weber of waging a yearslong smear campaign against her and the father of her son, Bruce Taylor, in papers filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Weber first sued the pair in 2018, claiming they defrauded her out of $150,000, sparking years of legal battles, court records reviewed by The Post show.

But Burch claims the money was actually tied to an illegal marijuana deal Weber struck with Taylor after meeting him at a Santa Monica bar in 2015.

Weber withdrew $150,000 in cash for the deal because she had problems with the IRS, according to the lawsuit.

The alleged drug transaction was arranged at the Four Seasons in Las Vegas, with plans to transport the marijuana across state lines, the lawsuit claims.

Text messages show a back and forth between Weber and Taylor leading up to the deal.

“Good morning, Handsome. Mission accomplished-I will have the package for sure by Friday early afternoon the latest. Book our suite, Baby! Game on, and we are ready to play,” Weber said, adding a lip emoji, the papers say.

Text messages in the papers also suggest the alleged drug deal went sour.

“Last night was a nightmare of epic proportions will call later with lawyer now,” Taylor said.

“OK Babe thanks for getting in touch with me! I knew something had to have happened and I was very worried about you,” Weber allegedly responded.

“Did you ever get your garment bag back from the Feds yet with my money it in? Yes, if you did we can roll around in it together,” Weber said in another message.

Burch claims she knew nothing about the Las Vegas trip and had no relationship with Taylor beyond co-parenting their son.

After the money vanished, Weber allegedly targeted Burch with a social media smear campaign and contacted her KTLA bosses in a bid to get her fired.

“You are giving Wendy Burch a platform to continue her crimes against women along with her accomplice Bruce Taylor,” Weber wrote in an email to KTLA’s story tip account, according to an exhibit attached to the lawsuit.

Weber also sent threatening messages to Burch.

“I WILL PUT YOU AND HIM ON EVERY CHANNEL NEWS TO EXPOSE YOU AND THAT CON MAN WHO STOLE MY MONEY AND I WILL HAVE YOU INVESTIGATED BECAUSE YOU HAVE ALL THE STOLEN MONEY !! YOU B*****,” she allegedly sent through Facebook messenger.

“Weber decided to subject Ms. Burch to the litigation because she felt that by damaging the mother of Mr. Taylor’s child, she would damage Mr. Taylor,” the lawsuit says.

After years of litigation and five appeals by Webber, the case against Burch was dismissed and her “litigation nightmare came to an end” in December 2025, the papers read.

The court also ruled in favor of Taylor, finding that “the evidence established that Weber knowingly entered into an illegal drug deal with Mr. Taylor, tainting the entire case,” the filing states.

Burch is suing both Weber and her attorney, Howard Fisher, and the law firm of Fisher and Fisher, citing malicious prosecution, abuse of process, and emotional distress.

The TV newswoman says she suffered “anxiety, depression, mental anguish, sleeplessness, anger, stress, and feelings of hopelessness” as a result of the years of litigation, according to the lawsuit.

Weber, Fisher, and Fisher and Fisher were all contacted for comment.
